BORROWED COMPASS (poem)

How do we find our Africa Messiah
To whom shall we pray;
Ifa, Amadioha, or the Sun?
Knowing we blacks are lesser gods
That could create it’s divine path.

When Colonial masters taught us 90°,
We developed 360°.
When others worked to straighten their 90°,
We were busy drawing circles with borrowed compass:
Corruption is high
Employment are low.
Democracy they call it;
Victim lines on our faces.

With less time left, A leader we need – an hero.
To keep things straight and narrow
Leading us on a straight path
To our own promise land.
Flowing with money and meat.
Money for all.
Meat for our hungry wards.
